Youth empowerment

At the core of youth empowerment is our belief that young people are capable of incredible things. When young people have exposure to rousing ideas and opportunities and the tools to build their confidence, they shall become drivers of lasting solutions in the community they leave in.
An empowered young person recognizes their capabilities, self-determination and potentials in driving changes in the community. They feel comfortable trying new innovations and exploring creativity as they respond to the amazing community needs. They stand up for their values. And they know they have built a foundation of self-empowerment to rely on in times of struggle or when they are feeling lost and need to recalibrate. YFTC do this through the following Objectives:

  1. Boost capacities of young refugee entrepreneurs: This starts with business needs assessment, the differential realities of female and male refugee entrepreneurs will become apparent and care will be taken to translate these differences also in adequate, gender-specific training and support methods and packages. To improve discussion, analysis and support delivery, mostly use will be made of female trainers, coaches and business-mentors. Furthermore, gender-specific methods and measures will be explicitly elaborated and presented at reporting, project formulation and the public presentation workshop
  2. Access to digital tools and ICT trainings: Leveraging digital technology to Enhance Livelihood and Labour market relevant skills for youth and women through Non-formal ICT skills trainings. ICT also offers opportunities for youth empowerment and education, particularly in societies where resources are limited.
  3. Amplify the voices of young people to participate in decision making process in concern that affects their lives: To instil the skills of tolerance and respect of divergent views and opinions through organizing community policing debates
